Excluding Responses from a Response List

You can “exclude” a specific response in a multiple response question making it “unique”. By clicking the exclude button, you are restricting that particular response from being chosen “with” other responses. A good use for this is if you have a multiple response question with a “Don’t Know” code. You can “exclude” the “Don’t Know” so it cannot be chosen “with” the other response codes.

Steps

  1. Access the Question Editor by clicking the Add Questions tab from the menu bar at the top of the page.
  2. Navigate to the question where you want to Exclude your response.
  3. Click on the specific response you want to Exclude.
  4. Click the Exclude checkbox next to the response you want to Exclude from the response list.
  5. Click the Submit button or Hit Return.
  6. The response will be Excluded from your response list with check marks indicating it will be Excluded from the list.
  7. To cancel your editing at any time, click the CancelEdit Button button. Changes will not be saved.
  8. You must click the Update Question Details button to save your changes.
  9. To start a new question, click the Start Button button.

Example

In this example, we are Excluding the “None” response code by clicking the Exclude response checkbox.

NOTE: The modified response code is NOT saved until you click the Submit button.

Result

A checkmark under the Exclude Column for the “None” response indicates that the “None” response cannot be chosen with the other responses.
