Survox Console Composer

Create and edit questionnaires using the Survox Console Composer,
including questions, pages, response lists, and survey logic.

Create or Edit a Questionnaire

Use Create/Edit Questionnaire to access the Composer
interface where you can design and create your questionnaire.

Important

Once you download a questionnaire from the Survox Console and make changes
to the downloaded questionnaire, you will not be able to
use the Composer to make future changes to that questionnaire.

You can, however, use the
Project Setup – Upload Files function to upload the
modified questionnaire. The questionnaire will compile when it is uploaded.

Design View

Design View displays a tree view of your programmed questionnaire and
provides an overview of the structure of your project.

From Design View, you can restructure your questionnaire, move questions,
add questions, edit question text and response lists, delete questions,
and control how questions are organized on questionnaire pages.

You can force a question to appear on a page by itself so that it is the
only question the respondent sees on the screen, or group a series of
questions together on a particular page.

Design View Functions

Design View provides access to the following questionnaire editing
functions:

Function Description


Add Pages

 		Force a question or group of questions to appear on their own screen.


Delete Pages

 		Remove pages between questions, allowing multiple questions to
appear on the same screen.


Edit Pages

 		Add, modify, or remove text displayed at the top of a page.


Add Questions

 		Add questions anywhere in your questionnaire.


Copy Questions

 		Copy existing questions within your questionnaire.


Delete Questions

 		Remove questions from the questionnaire.


Edit Questions

 		Modify question type, text, label, or the question response list.


Move Questions

 		Move questions from one location to another within the questionnaire.


Delete Questionnaire

 		Delete the entire questionnaire from Design View.

Questionnaire Display

Design View uses color to help identify different elements of the
questionnaire:

  • Blue — Question labels
  • Red — Terminate statements
  • Green — Quota statements

Accessing Design View

To open a questionnaire in Design View:

  1. Click the Project Setup tab.
  2. Click Create/Edit Questionnaire.
  3. Select a project from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Edit Questionnaire.
  5. Select the Design View tab.

Working in Design View

Design View provides controls for adding new pages between questions
and adding new questions to the questionnaire.

Questions can be moved to another location in the questionnaire using
the Move button or duplicated using the
Copy button.

Questions and pages can be deleted using the X button.
To edit a question, response list, or page, select the question itself
or use the Magnifying Glass button.

Survey logic can also be managed directly from Design View. Select
Add Logic to add logic to a question, or select an
existing IF condition to modify existing logic.

Question details can be collapsed or expanded using the arrow controls
next to each question.
