Final Status vs Last Status on a Sample Record
There is often some confusion about what the difference is between the Final Status and the Last Status and when you use one or the other.
The final status (5111.3) is record based. It will be 0 when the record is still active and then will be whatever the status was that caused the record to become resolved. Only resolved status are valid in this location.
The last status (6003.3) is phone call based. It contains the call status of whatever happened on the last call history written for that phone number.
This can often be the same. In the case of a completed case, they will both be 1. For any other resolved status 2-99,301-499 they will also be the same.
They will be different in the following scenarios:
1) As long as the record is active, the final status will be 0, but the last status will be whatever happened on the last call or blank if the number has not been called yet.
2) If a record is resolved on maximum attempts, the final status will be 973, but the last status will still be whatever happened on the last call (for instance, 101 if it were a no answer)
3) If you KILL a record in foneutil or in the supervisor and do NOT use the save option, then the final status will be whatever status value you assign to the kill (default is 955), but the last status will still be whatever happened on the last call including blank if it has not yet been dialed.
