When invoking the following error messages:

Make sure to install the 32 bit version of the iSQL or ODBC connector. The “.i686” package of the ODBC MySQL connector is needed in order for Mentor to read and write to an ODBC/MySQL database.

Below is the recommended MySQL connector as of version 8.7.3+.
