Web Surveys
Develop, test, deploy, and manage Web surveys with Survox, including
email distribution and mixed-mode Web and phone data collection.
Web Survey Capabilities
Survox provides the tools needed to create and manage complete Web survey
projects, from questionnaire development through deployment, data collection,
and reporting.
- Create and program Web-based questionnaires
- Test surveys before launch
- Deploy surveys for live data collection
- Manage sample and respondent access
- Monitor progress while a study is active
- Collect and maintain survey data within the Survox project
- Combine Web and phone interviewing within the same study
Building and Deploying a Web Survey
Web surveys use the same Survox project environment used for other
data collection modes. Questionnaire programming, sample management,
fielding, and reporting can all remain within a single project workflow.
1. Create the Project
Create a Survox project and configure the questionnaire, sample,
and project settings required for the study.
2. Program the Questionnaire
Build the questionnaire using the Survox Composer or Survent programming
tools. Questionnaires can include validation, skip logic, quotas, branching,
and other survey logic required by the project.
3. Test the Survey
Run the project in test mode to verify question flow, logic, response
handling, page presentation, and other survey behavior before opening
the study to respondents.
4. Deploy the Study
When testing is complete, deploy the project for live Web data collection
and provide respondents with access to the survey.
5. Monitor Fieldwork
Use the Survox Console to monitor participation, sample activity,
project status, quotas, and collected data while the study is active.
Coming Soon
The upcoming Survox release expands Web survey capabilities with
built-in email management, improved sample loading, an updated Survey
Composer, and AI-assisted survey programming.
Email Distribution
Built-in email management allows Web survey invitations and respondent
communications to be managed directly within the Survox environment.
Integrated Web Survey Email
Manage survey invitations and related respondent communications as part
of the same workflow used to manage your project and sample.
Keeping email distribution within Survox provides a more integrated
process for inviting respondents, managing sample, and monitoring Web
survey fieldwork.
Mixed-Mode Web and Phone Surveys
A Survox project does not have to be limited to a single interviewing
method. Web and phone interviewing can be used together within the same
study, allowing respondents to participate using the mode that best fits
the project.
One Study. Multiple Modes. One Data Source.
Web and interviewer-assisted phone data collection can operate within
the same Survox study while keeping the resulting survey data together
in the same project.
This eliminates the need to create separate Web and phone projects and
then combine independently collected datasets after fieldwork.
Benefits of Mixed-Mode Data Collection
| Capability | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Web + Phone |
Combine self-administered Web surveys with interviewer-assisted phone interviewing within the same study. |
| Shared Project Data |
Keep responses from multiple collection modes associated with the same Survox study and data environment. |
| Shared Questionnaire |
Use the same questionnaire and survey logic across supported collection modes where appropriate. |
| Flexible Respondent Contact |
Provide additional options for reaching respondents based on project requirements and sample availability. |
| Unified Reporting |
Analyze study results without first having to combine independently maintained Web and phone datasets. |
Example Mixed-Mode Workflow
Start with Web
A study can begin by inviting respondents to complete the questionnaire
online.
Follow Up by Phone
Respondents who do not complete the Web survey can be contacted by
telephone and interviewed through the Survox phone interviewing
environment.
Keep the Data Together
Whether a respondent completes the questionnaire online or with an
interviewer, the responses remain part of the same Survox study.
This provides greater flexibility during fieldwork without requiring
separate Web and telephone survey datasets.
Managing Sample During Fieldwork
Survox provides sample management tools for controlling and monitoring
the respondents associated with an active study.
Improved Sample Loading
Keep fieldwork moving with the ability to add new sample while a study
is actively running, giving you more flexibility without interrupting
your project.
This can be particularly useful for active Web and mixed-mode studies
where additional sample may need to be introduced as fieldwork progresses.
Questionnaire Development
Survox provides multiple options for developing the questionnaire used
for Web and mixed-mode projects.
Survey Composer
The updated Survey Composer provides a library of reusable questions
and survey widgets designed to make questionnaire development faster
and more consistent.
AI-Assisted Survey Programming
Survey specifications created in a Word document can be converted into
a programmed survey using a custom-trained Survox AI agent, reducing
the amount of manual setup required to begin questionnaire development.
Survent Programming
Survent remains available for projects requiring direct questionnaire
programming and advanced survey logic.
Managing an Active Web Study
Once a project is live, the Survox Console provides tools for managing
ongoing fieldwork and monitoring project activity.
- Monitor study activity and completions
- Manage respondent sample
- Add additional sample while fieldwork is active
- Review quotas and project progress
- Activate or deactivate project activity
- Monitor Web and phone interviewing
- Manage Web survey email communications
- Access reporting and collected data
Getting Started
Begin by creating a new Survox project, configuring your questionnaire
and sample, and selecting the appropriate data collection methods for
your study.
