Survox 10.4.6
Version 10.4.6 is the current release in the Survox 10.4 series. Because this is the first 10.4 release documented on this site, these notes also summarize the features introduced throughout versions 10.4.0 through 10.4.6.
Survox 10.4 expands Composer capabilities, modernizes platform security and infrastructure, improves IVR and Dialer behavior, adds new reporting tools, and introduces major sample-management and questionnaire-import workflows.
10.4.6 Highlights
The current release adds a hosted questionnaire importer, new on-demand reporting, SendGrid email integration, updated survey authentication terminology, and enhanced sample output.
Questionnaire Importer for Composer
Hosted systems can import raw questionnaires into Composer from DOC, TXT, or JSON files. Credentials and token payment configuration are required to use this feature.
On-Demand Tables
Users can run tables on demand, select rows and columns, and create a graphical representation of the resulting data.
Integrated SendGrid Emailing
The Console can now be configured to send batch email through SendGrid as part of sample-management workflows.
Sample Output URLs
Sample output now includes survey URLs, including the shortened survey URL when available.

Version 10.4.6
CurrentHosted systems can import questionnaires from DOC, TXT, or JSON. Credentials and token payment configuration are required.
Password is now referred to as the survey token, and the username is no longer used.

Configure and send batch emails from the Console through SendGrid.

On hosted systems, MFA is the only option when creating new users; password authentication is not offered.
Console administrators can configure automatic logout time by company.
When building phone files, users can control how many test records are created, including creating none.
Design work was completed and Phase 1 was implemented.
Sample-management inputs now support short selections, single selections, patterns, and uploads of large item lists.
Delimited-file processing was enhanced to better handle changing headers, different field lengths, and missing fields.

Composer supports use_previous_answer questions to overlay lists, update text, or assemble response lists from earlier answers.
Composer can rotate question groups.
Composer can allow or disallow backup, suspend, and terminate at multiple points in a survey.
Composer can assign a blank response-list value when a question was presented but not answered, without displaying that item to the respondent.
PRESS_N_AFTER=Yes/No controls whether the PRESS X recording plays before or after response text.
Composer can upload and manage study-specific language template files.
Version 10.4.2
Composer includes question types for storing custom text in data and running system commands.
Predictive dialing is supported on blended studies.
IL/XL questions can specify sound files using soundfile=(QLabel_ResponseCode) without requiring rotation.

Numeric exception codes can display customized text in Composer.
The Console accepts additional popular audio and video file types. Composer media remains limited to formats supported by HTML5 audio and video.
Rotated response lists use soundfile=(QLabel_ResponseCode) by default instead of deriving sound filenames from response text.
The default theme and combined stereo themes can be updated dynamically from the Console.
Version 10.4.0
Flip and random-start rotation options were added to Composer.
Composer can mark a survey complete before the final question or display, including before demographics or an IVR thank-you message.
Command-line super no longer requires users to enter an LDEV.
Version 10.4 includes complete 64-bit support, including ODBC.
Additional CSS, JavaScript, image, audio, and video file types are supported in survey-related web files.
Machine- and study-level JavaScript error messages are available in JSON format for 50 widely used languages.
Online-related Survent message-file content is translated into 50 widely used languages.
New non-legacy themes include language-specific template directories for 50 widely used languages.
xf(survey_theme_is("<theme_name>")) determines which theme is active from the study mode WC file.
Upgrade Notes
Before upgrading to 10.4.6:
- Review the Survox upgrade guide.
- Back up Survox databases, application files, and configuration.
- Schedule an appropriate maintenance window.
- Verify that all users have exited the system.
- Test critical survey, Dialer, IVR, reporting, and sample workflows after the upgrade.
