Upgrading Survox

This guide describes the recommended procedure for upgrading an existing Survox installation to the latest supported release while preserving your projects, databases, configuration and licensing.

Before You Begin

Always perform a complete SQL database backup and file backup before beginning an upgrade. Schedule the upgrade during a maintenance window and ensure all users have logged out of Survox.

Step 1 — Backup Your Environment

Database

  • Survox Database
  • Survey Databases
  • Reporting Databases

Application Files

  • Projects
  • Sample Files
  • Configuration Files
  • Reports
  • Audio Files
  • Custom Scripts

Step 2 — Stop Survox Services

  • Survox Services
  • Dialer Services
  • Scheduled Tasks (Cron Jobs)
  • Background Processing Services
Verify no Survox processes remain running.

Step 3 — Download and Run the Installer

  1. Request Download link from Survox Support
  2. Run the installer as Root
  3. Verify the installation information when prompted.
  4. Complete the installation.

Step 4 — Restart Services

  • Survox Services
  • Dialer
  • Background Services ( Cron Jobs )
Verify each service starts successfully.

Step 5 — Verify the Upgrade

  • Users can log in
  • Projects open correctly
  • Surveys compile
  • Dialer connects
  • Web surveys launch
  • Reports generate
  • Licensing is valid

Post Upgrade Checklist

  • Review Release Notes
  • Verify integrations
  • Test outbound dialing
  • Test web surveys
  • Verify sample imports
  • Verify scheduled jobs
  • Verify backups resume normally
